Danfoss EV210B covers a wide range of direct-operated 2/2-way solenoid valves for universal use. EV210B is a real robust valve program with high performance and can be used in all kind of tough working conditions.
Connections from 1/8" up to 1", NC and NO versions, medium temperatures up to 140 °C (low pressure steam), coil enclosures up to IP67 ensure an optimal performance even under critical working conditions.
Increased performance without increasing the coil power
Most of the EV210B range is designed with a so-called impact system. The valve plate is not fixed, but has a small clearance. When the coil is energized the armature starts its movement, but is still not in contact with the pressurized valve plate. The armature will accumulate energy during the movement of the clearance, and when it hits the valve plate, the impact will lift the plate. This makes it possible to increase the performance of the EV210B up to 100 % without increasing the coil power, and without reducing the lifetime of the valve. Wide coil range up to IP67:
The EV210B range uses the standard B-range of coils going from IPOO to IP65 this makes it possible to choose the optimal coils no matter if the solution is technical or economical. If the valve is placed in a dry, protected position with a limited temperature a low wattage coil with IP20 will be the most cost effective solution, but if the coil is placed in a position with risk of water splashing and temperatures up to 80oC, the more powerful and robust Clip-on coils will be best.
Modular design to meet specific requirements
The unique design of the armature in EV210B makes it possible to use other sealing materials than those commonly used. It is possible to use PTFE or other stiff materials due to the swaged-in design, used to make the connection between valve plate and armature. PTFE is optimal for extra long lifetime at high pressure and temperature.
Long lifetime
The valve plate will often determine the lifetime of an EV210B, especially when used in the extreme conditions with high temperature and high pressure. Another and more typical parameter is internal wear (abrasion). The EV210B has a high wall thickness, a unique square shape of the armature and a specially designed spring ensuring longer life. The windings of the moving end of spring are very close, this reduces wear significantly.
Insensitive to dirt
Owing to the unique square design of the armature, the risk of sticking armature caused by particles is low. Particles placed between armature and armature tube or armature top will be displaced by the fluid when the armature moves.
Increased resistance against corrosion and cavitation
The Stainless Steel version of EV210B is made of acid proof AISI316 SS and what is usually a copper ring avoiding hum in the armature top is made of silver. Even though the armature, because of the demand for good magnetic properties is made of less resistant material than the valve body, the body is very often the most sensitive part of the valve. It is the orifice that is subjected to risk of cavitation, sticking particles and erosion coming from the flow.
Optimum Kv-values for many connections
The Kv-value states the capacity of the valve. The valve size is very often denoted as the diameter of the orifice, but it is a fact that in most situations the lift of the packing plate determines the real restriction in the valve. Also the smoothed shape of the orifice in an EV210B increases the capacity and reduces the risk of cavitation. The EV210B range is designed with optimum shape and lift of the valve plate. When comparing the EV210B diameters with similar valves, this range has higher capacities.
Secure opening and closing
The EV210B is available with isolating diaphragm as accessory. This can be necessary if the medium is very dirty or corrosive, but also if the valve only is used very seldom. It often the case that corroded debris from other parts of a system end up in the solenoid valve, and make the armature stick within the armature tube. This can be avoided by using the isolating diaphragm module; this can be mounted on EV210B up to size 4,5mm.
